terms of service

Our terms of service apply to all serviced events and carryout orders of $700 or more.

A signed contract and specified deposit are due immediately to confirm your event order and reserve the services of Local Harvest Catering. All agreements must be in writing and contained within a contract. Contracts are not binding unless signed by a representative of Local Harvest. The representative will sign & confirm your contract upon receipt of deposit.

GUARANTEED GUEST COUNT & MENU

There is a 30 guest minimum for all serviced events, and a 10 guest minimum for meals that are carried out or delivered. Events under 30 guests and meals under 10 guests are subject to a service surcharge. Clients may request a complimentary tasting of their selected menu for events serving 50 or more guests. Any additional tastings will be charged to the client. Final menu changes  are due 2 weeks prior to the event.

An estimated guest count is required upon the signing of this contract. It is suggested that you provide Local Harvest with guest count updates 2-4 weeks prior to the event.  The final guest count is due 10 business days prior to the event. After this, decreases in guarantees cannot be accommodated. If more guests are served at the event than specified in your contract, Local Harvest reserves the right to charge the full amount for these additional guests, and will provide an invoice within three business days of the event for the additional charges.

FOOD & BEVERAGE POLICY

If Local Harvest is contracted as the unique food and/or beverage provider for your event, no other outside food and/or beverage may be brought into the event without the express written approval of your catering representative. Due to health and safety concerns, no leftover food may be taken by you or your guests without approval by our catering manager.

If Local Harvest provides alcohol for your event, our bartenders must be contracted to serve that alcohol, due to our liquor license restrictions and for the safety of your guests. All guests must be 21 or over to consume alcohol. Local Harvest reserves the right to request identification from guests seeking to consume alcohol. Local Harvest reserves the right to stop alcohol service to guests if the guest is deemed impaired, to be determined by our experienced bartenders and approved by a catering manager.

PRICING FOR CHILDREN

Local Harvest has special options available for children 12 and under. Please ask your representative for details. If you choose to feed children from the main menu, the following price reductions apply:

ages 0 - 4 eat free

ages 5 to 12 eat for 50% of adult price

ages 13+  are adult price

If your package includes beverage service by the hour, you will be billed at a flat rate of $6 per child 5 and older (no charge for 4 and under) rather than the adult rate. There is no discount for children for cake service or rental items.

 

DEPOSIT & FINAL PAYMENT

A 25% deposit is immediately due for orders over $500 to confirm your order and reserve the services of Local Harvest Catering. The estimated total is due the week prior to the event via credit card or check. Payment by check is preferred. Credit card charges over $2000 are subject to a 2% convenience fee. Any additional charges incurred during your event will be billed the next business day after the event to the credit card on file.

 

ADDITIONAL CHARGES

8.7% sales tax will be applied to food and beverage sales. A 22% service charge will apply to staffed events. A travel surcharge will apply to all events taking place 30 miles or more from downtown St. Louis. Rental charges will apply for items not included in food or beverage packages. Late-night, weekend, and holiday pickup charges for rentals will be passed on to you if your chosen venue requires immediate pickup of rentals. If Local Harvest Catering performs any service for you not stipulated by this contract, we reserve the right to bill additional service hours. Local Harvest agrees to provide written documentation of any additional services, and, if possible, to inform you of these services before such are performed.

CANCELLATION

Once a deposit is paid, cancellation forfeits all or a portion of your deposit. Up to one month prior to your event, your cancellation forfeits a portion of the deposit, calculated to cover what Local Harvest has spent on administrative, labor, or material costs. Catering orders cancelled 30 days or less prior to the event will forfeit 100% of the deposit or all incurred expenses, whichever is greater. Parties cancelled within 5 business days of the event will be charged the full amount of the contract.
